What Makes Each Build Different
Clapton is the reference build — one core wire wrapped in a thinner outer wire. The four Clapton resistances here step up core gauge (24GA for 0.4Ω/0.5Ω, 26GA for 0.8Ω/0.85Ω) paired with either a 30GA or 32GA wrap. Fused Clapton runs two parallel core wires under the wrap instead of one, so it heats fast and holds more juice against the wick. Alien Clapton twists a clapton core with a flat wire and wraps them again, adding more surface area than a standard clapton.
Mix Twisted is simpler: a round wire twisted with a flat wire, no outer wrap. Tiger mixes a round wire and a flat ribbon wire twisted together — part clapton, part twisted, and built the same way as Mix Twisted here. Hive takes two twisted-wire pairs and twists those together again, four strands total, which is why it runs a bit thicker than the other builds here.
Quad wraps four core wires together for a denser build suited to higher-wattage decks. Flat Twisted takes a twisted build and flattens it into a ribbon so it sits flush against the wick. Twisted, with no other name attached, is the plainest build in the lineup — two round wires twisted with no wrap at all, running from a thick 24GA at 0.2Ω down to a thin 32GA at 0.9Ω.
