SMOK Nord 2 Starter Kit | 40W, Two Coil Platforms
The Nord 2 is the kit that made SMOK's pod line worth paying attention to: a 1500 mAh battery, 40W of adjustable output, an OLED screen, and two different pods in the box so it runs both the Nord and the RPM coil families. One device, two coil platforms, a dozen resistances to choose between.
Highlights
- 1500 mAh integrated battery — 400 mAh more than the original Nord
- 40W maximum output, adjustable, with a single firing button
- 0.69" OLED screen showing wattage, resistance, voltage and battery
- Ships with both a Nord pod and an RPM pod
- Takes the full Nord coil and RPM coil ranges
- Nine finishes, including the resin, cobra and stabilizing-wood panels
Two pods, two coil families
This is the whole reason to buy a Nord 2 rather than a simpler pod. The pod decides the coil, and you get both pods in the box.
| Pod | Takes | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Nord pod | Nord coils | Everyday MTL and mesh builds |
| RPM pod | RPM coils | Quartz, triple and mesh, MTL through direct-lung |
Worth being precise about, because it is the most common ordering mistake on this device: the Nord 2 does not take RPM 2 or RPM 3 coils. Buy Nord coils for the Nord pod and standard RPM coils for the RPM pod.
What is in the box
- Nord 2 device
- Nord 2 Nord pod and Nord 2 RPM pod
- 0.4Ω Nord mesh coil
- 0.8Ω Nord MTL coil
- USB charging cable and user guide
Who it suits
If you are coming off cigarettes and running nicotine salts, put an 0.8Ω or higher coil in and leave the wattage low — the draw is tight, the vapor is cool, and the 1500 mAh battery will see out a normal day without a top-up.
If you want more from it, the 0.4Ω mesh in the box opens the draw up and 40W is enough to run it properly. Being able to swap between those two worlds by changing a pod, without buying a second device, is the Nord 2's actual selling point.
If you want more power than 40W or the newest coil platform, the Nord 5 runs 80W on RPM 3 coils. It is a bigger, heavier device — the Nord 2 is the one that disappears in a pocket.
Why buy the Nord 2 from Central Vapors
We stock the coils and the replacement pods for both platforms, so the kit does not become a paperweight when the first coil goes. Central Vapors has been filling vape orders since 2013, and every order is backed by our satisfaction guarantee.
SMOK Nord 2 — common questions
| Q |
Which coils does the Nord 2 use? Both Nord coils and the standard RPM coil range, depending on which of the two included pods you have fitted. It does not take RPM 2 or RPM 3 coils. |
| Q |
What comes in the kit? The device, both pod types, a 0.4Ω Nord mesh coil, a 0.8Ω Nord MTL coil, a charging cable and the guide. You can run either coil family out of the box. |
| Q |
Is the Nord 2 good with nicotine salts? It is one of the better kits for it. Fit an 0.8Ω or higher coil, keep the wattage low, and you get the tight, cool, cigarette-style draw that high-strength salt e-liquid needs. |
| Q |
Nord 2 or the newer Nord 5? The Nord 5 steps up to 80W, a bigger battery and the RPM 3 coil platform. The Nord 2 stays smaller, lighter and cheaper to feed. Pick on whether pocketability or power matters more to you. |
| Q |
How do I get the most out of a coil? Prime it before the first puff: wet the cotton ports, fit the coil, fill the pod, then let it stand five to ten minutes. Refill before the pod runs low rather than after. |
