Propylene Glycol is one of the two base liquids used to mix your own e-juice. This is USP/EP pharmaceutical-grade PG at better than 99.8% purity — the same base we use in our handcrafted e-liquid. It is thin and nearly tasteless, so it carries flavor concentrate and nicotine cleanly while delivering a sharper throat hit than vegetable glycerin.

What Is Propylene Glycol (PG)?
PG is the thinner of the two e-liquid bases. Mixed with vegetable glycerin (VG), flavor concentrate, and (optionally) liquid nicotine, it becomes finished e-juice. Compared with VG, PG produces less visible vapor but a stronger throat hit and crisper flavor, which is why most balanced recipes use it as part of the base.
How DIY Mixers Use PG
- Build a base. A 50/50 PG/VG split is the common all-rounder for most tanks and pods.
- Dial in throat hit. More PG means a sharper hit and sharper flavor; more VG means smoother, bigger clouds.
- Thin a thick mix. Adding PG loosens a high-VG blend so it wicks faster.
- Dilute concentrates. PG is the standard carrier for flavor concentrates.
