    FØ Mode Changed How I Think About Coil Life — The Z80 and Zenith II Are Made for Each Other

    I've been a committed MTL vaper for a few years and have gone through more mod-and-tank combos than I want to admit. The CoolFire Z80 with Zenith II is the first kit in a long time that genuinely introduced me to something new: FØ mode. Running alternating current through the coil instead of standard DC sounds like an engineering footnote until you live with it for a few weeks. My Z-Coils are lasting noticeably longer, and flavor stays cleaner through more of each coil's lifespan than I'm used to from any previous setup. The Refresh function — which pulses the coil at 40% wattage to draw more liquid in — sounds like a gimmick until you hit it after sitting down after a break and feel the next draw come back fully saturated. These are real, daily differences in a category that rarely sees genuine innovation. The mod itself is exactly what it should be: the suede-texture body on the Ash Grey version feels genuinely premium, the color screen is crisp and readable, and 80W from a single 18650 with a 0.003s ignition speed means instant, consistent response every time. The Zenith II handles everything else — 5.5mL capacity, twist-to-fill top cap, precise MTL-to-RDL airflow range, and press-fit coil swaps in under 30 seconds without draining the tank. Both the 0.8Ω MTL and 0.3Ω RDL Z-Coils are included, along with two matching drip tips. One note: the 18650 battery is sold separately — a Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC5A is the right call. One of the most complete and thoughtfully engineered starter kits available at this price point.
