Common Questions

Q
How do I know which Nautilus coil fits my tank?
Check the resistance printed on your current coil or original packaging against the table above - the classic 1.6/1.8ohm BVC builds fit the original Nautilus and Nautilus 2, while the mesh builds are for the newer 2S and 3 generations.
Q
What's the difference between BVC and Mesh coils here?
BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) is Aspire's classic Kanthal wick-and-wire build; the mesh coils use a flat mesh element for faster ramp-up and a bit more vapor at a similar or lower resistance.
Q
Which coil is best for nic salts?
The 1.6ohm or 1.8ohm BVC coils are the tightest MTL builds in the lineup and the standard choice for nic salt e-liquid.
Q
My coil tastes burnt right out of the box. What should I do?
Prime it first - add a few drops of e-liquid directly into the coil's wicking holes and let it sit 5-10 minutes before your first vape.

Questions & Answers

QWhy are there several coil options for the same tank, and how do I pick the right one?

Central Vapors Team · Jun 27, 2026

AThey're the same coil family in different resistances (ohms), each tuned for a different style — they all fit the same tank/pod. Lower-ohm coils (about 0.2–0.4Ω) are sub-ohm: run them at higher wattage for warm, big direct-lung clouds. Higher-ohm coils (about 0.8–1.2Ω and up) run at lower wattage for a tighter mouth-to-lung draw, cooler vapor, and longer battery life. So pick the resistance that matches the wattage and draw you like, and stay within each coil's recommended wattage range for the best flavor and coil life. Tip: confirm you're buying the exact coil family your device lists — coil names can differ between device generations. — Central Vapors

QHow do I prime a new coil or pod before I use it?

Central Vapors Team · Jun 27, 2026

ASaturate the wick first: add 3–5 drops of e-liquid onto the exposed cotton holes on the coil, install it, fill the tank/pod, then wait 5–10 minutes before your first puff. A few gentle primer puffs (device off, or at low power) help pull liquid into the wick. Always refill before it runs low. This is the #1 way to avoid a burnt taste. — Central Vapors

QMy new coil tastes burnt right away — what's wrong?

Central Vapors Team · Jun 27, 2026

AAlmost always it's an un-primed coil or too-high wattage. Before first use, prime it: put a few drops of e-liquid directly on the cotton wicking holes, fill the tank/pod, and let it sit 5–10 minutes so the cotton fully saturates. Start at the LOW end of the coil's wattage range and work up. Keep your e-liquid above the wicking ports so the coil never runs dry — dry hits are what scorch the cotton. — Central Vapors

QWhat makes the BVC coils good for flavor?

Central Vapors Team · Jun 27, 2026

AThe vertical coil design with large wicking inlets and Japanese organic cotton gives clean, pure flavor and reliable wicking for MTL vaping. — Central Vapors

QWhich tanks do these Aspire Nautilus BVC coils fit?

Central Vapors Team · Jun 27, 2026

AThese BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) coils fit the Aspire Nautilus, Nautilus Mini, and other Nautilus-series tanks — check your tank against the Nautilus BVC coil family. — Central Vapors

  • Bad quality coils

Posted by Bobbie H on Oct 21st 2023

I've bought many coils from Central Vapors. The recent suppliers are really bad quality. Shorting out (no adimizer notices), burning out fast like in two days, bad tastes... Just really poor quality. This last batch was even worse. My older stock was great and I had no issues with the coils. But these current suppliers are just plain bad. Sorry CV. Love you guys though on everything else! :)

  • Many shorted coils

Posted by Robert Schlund on Sep 30th 2023

I purchased 4 five packs of .07 OHM coils for my mini nautilus tank. I have had at least one in each pack that would not fire due to electrical short within. This is not acceptable. Seems manufacturer has stopped quality control. If I pay for 5 coils I expect 5 working coils !

  • Aspire Nautilus Coil discontinued

Posted by JEFF HEINES on Sep 4th 2023

These have been on back order forever. I have checked locally very very difficult to find. I have been told they have been discontinued by the manufacturer. I really hate to hear that loved this particular product.

  • Genuine Aspire This Time

Posted by MIKE on Aug 19th 2023

Surprised when I checked on Aspire site that my most recent coil purchase are indeed Genuine Aspire!!

Perfect description in the item was great. It fit my device perfectly. Works first time every time.

  • Not worth the savings or frustration

Posted by Beth on Apr 30th 2023

I've been using the authentic Aspire coils for my Nautilus Mini for years. This is the 1st time I've tried the clones. I bought 10 boxes of these and so far every single coil the threading is off for my mini. 2 boxes the threads were too far up & off that they were impossible to use ... and also broke one of my really nice tanks getting stuck. 2 boxes have been OK …. coils were still off but worked. You definitely have to screw around to get them to fit ... and the mini is a bottom fill so it's a pain & wastes juice. None have lasted as long as the authentic coils. I just opened a box and every coil gives the no atomizer error. 3 bad boxes, 2 good boxes, 5 to go & then I'm done with the clones.

  • excellent service

Fantastic service fast shipment thankyou, would highly recommend

  • Replacement atomizers

Posted by Nate Stewart on Mar 18th 2023

Over all the atomizers I purchase are just fine but I've noticed there's been a couple of "bad batches". However the staff hasn't been slacking @ replacing the purchases, so overall I'm good with Central Vapors & expect to continue business with the co.

  • well worth it!

Posted by Jeanmarie Crater on Mar 11th 2023

I vape a very sweet e-juice so I go through coils, but at this price I don't worry about it. Thanks!
