KangerTech SSOCC Coil

The KangerTech SSOCC (Sub-Ohm Organic Cotton Coil) is the coil deck used across Kanger's Subtank and Toptank lines. It spans a wide resistance range, from sub-ohm direct-lung builds down to a temperature-control nickel coil.

Highlights
  • 8 resistance builds from 0.15ohm to 2.2ohm
  • NiCr wire with Japanese organic cotton wicking on the standard builds
  • A Ni200 nickel build for temperature-control mode
  • Sold as a Single coil or a 5 Pack

SSOCC Coil Specs

CoilWattage RangeTypeDraw
0.2ohm 25-80W NiCr, organic cotton DTL
0.5ohm 15-60W NiCr, organic cotton DTL
0.5ohm (small SSOCC) Not separately published NiCr, organic cotton, shorter body DTL
0.5ohm Clapton Not separately published Kanthal Clapton, organic cotton DTL
1.2ohm 10-25W NiCr, organic cotton MTL
1.5ohm 10-25W NiCr, organic cotton MTL
0.15ohm NI (temp control) Not separately published Ni200 nickel, organic cotton Temp control only
2.2ohm Not separately published

The Ni200 nickel coil only works in a temperature-control mode that supports nickel wire - it won't fire correctly in standard wattage mode. Kanger's own spec sheets for the small-SSOCC, 0.5ohm Clapton, and 2.2ohm builds are no longer published; go by the resistance and your device's safe operating range if you run one of those.

Compatible With

Kanger's Subtank and Toptank tanks share this coil deck. In our catalog that is the Kanger Top Tank MINI and the Subvod Mega TC kit. If your Kanger tank takes a screw-in SSOCC head, this is the coil for it - check the resistance printed on the old coil before you order, because the deck spans everything from a 0.15ohm nickel build to a 2.2ohm MTL one.

Common Questions

Q
Which SSOCC coils fit my Subtank?
All eight resistances are built for the same SSOCC deck used across the Subtank and Toptank line, so any of them will thread in - the difference is draw style and wattage, not fit.
Q
Can I use the Ni200 coil in any mod?
Only in a mod with temperature-control mode that supports nickel wire. Firing it in standard wattage mode isn't accurate and isn't recommended.
Q
What's the difference between the Clapton and standard 0.5ohm coils?
Both run the same resistance, but the Clapton uses a wrapped wire construction for a bit more surface area and a slightly different flavor and vapor profile than the standard round-wire build.
Q
How do I pick between the 1.2ohm and 1.5ohm MTL coils?
Both are mouth-to-lung builds in a similar wattage window - it comes down to personal preference for draw resistance. Start with whichever your tank shipped with and compare.

  • What I expected

These coils are priced right and the quality is what I expect from Kanger.

  • ssocc coils in subvod

Like these coils much better than using the older style OCC, Ive been using these coils in my subvods for a couple years, they work great!

  • either fake or very old

Posted by Unknown on Mar 26th 2018

Bought kanger ssocc coils and they are significantly smaller than the ones I've been purchasing from other places for years. Not sure if they are fake or just extremely old and not the newest version. Regardless, I won't be purchasing them from here again...

  • Perfect!

Authentic coils in tamper-proof packaging from the manufacturer. Great price and very fast shipping! I plan on purchasing any and all future coils from Central Vapors.

  • Wrong coil

Posted by Jon H. on Sep 13th 2017

I ordered what I thought was a Clapton .5 ohm coil, as it looked like what I needed in the picture. It turned out to be the wrong coil. Not a total loss as I work with a few guys that vape so they were able to use them for their tanks. Still enjoy browsing this website and plan on purchasing other items from here.

  • the worst

Posted by Renee Newby on Sep 6th 2017

not sure which ones everyone else received, but I got the small ones, no screen for spit back. Nothing worse than a burnt tongue. These are unusable for me. Even turned watts down to 7 and still spit hot juice.

  • less than from a shop.

  • Second Thought..

I left a negative review on these the last time. I tried to remove it, but couldn't. I am happy with these coils. I can't compare these to any others because I have only used these. I will be buying more!

  • Gone way too soon.

When I purchased my vape locally, the coil lasted 3 months on a setting of 28. I have purchased two coils from Central Vapors, both marked Kranger Tech, both went dead within a couple of weeks. 3 months, now a couple of weeks? When I bought my vape locally the guy told me the coil would last 3 days to a week? If this is the case, my rating would be 4, it is what it is people!
