Kanger ProTank Coils

The Kanger ProTank coil is the original clearomizer coil for the ProTank, ProTank 2, and ProTank 3 - classic, pre-sub-ohm hardware built for basic variable-voltage batteries rather than wattage-mode mods. Six resistances are available, all standard MTL builds.

Kanger never published a wattage spec for these coils - the ProTank line predates variable-wattage mods and was designed to run off a simple variable-voltage battery, typically in the 3.3-4.2V range depending on resistance. If your battery is voltage-only, start low and increase gradually until the vapor and flavor feel right; if you're running it off a wattage-mode mod, start around 6-10W and adjust to taste.

Compatible With

Kanger ProTank, ProTank 2 and ProTank 3. The same screw-in coil head also fits the Kanger EVOD tank, so it is the replacement coil for our Kanger EVOD Starter Kit and the EVOD Clone as well. The EVOD batteries we sell on their own (EVOD, EVOD Passthrough, EVOD Twist 2) pair with that same tank.

What's the difference between the regular and SOCC coils?
SOCC (Stainless-steel Organic Cotton Coil) uses a stainless-steel coil housing with organic cotton wicking instead of the earlier silica-wick design - it's Kanger's later, better-wicking version of the same resistance.

Can I use a ProTank coil on a modern wattage-mode mod?
Yes, as long as the mod can be set low enough - these coils weren't designed for wattage mode, so start around 6-10W and adjust in small steps rather than assuming a sub-ohm-style wattage range.

Will these fit my ProTank 3?
Yes, Kanger kept the same coil deck across the ProTank, ProTank 2, and ProTank 3.

Why don't you list a wattage range for these?
Kanger never published one - the ProTank predates wattage-mode vaping and was built around basic voltage batteries. We'd rather tell you that honestly than invent a number that isn't real.

    These are NOT real kanger coils, they're knockoffs. They are slightly longer and wider and they don't work nearly as well. Also, unable to easily remove the base to change the wicks without pliers, dead giveaway that these are fake. I have reported you to the Ftc for false advertising and alerted Kangertech of the fraud.

    These are slightly longer than MT3S coils, will allow some leakage.

    I have researched these coils because I have had so many problems in the past. Am sharing just in case you don't know. These coils now have a different wick and need to soak longer or they will immediately burn and be ruined. Just to be safe when I replace a coil, I let it set about 15 minutes before using. Works every time now.

    I really needed coils, so was really pleased when these arrived. That was when I wrote my first review. I should have waited. Unfortunately, only one coil was usable. The rest were all defective. Strong burnt taste!

    I am so happy to find these! Have ordered elsewhere in the past and received some real junk. I think they were 'wanna be's'.

    Haven't had the first bit of problem with these, they have the drag that the products call for and I would freak out if you stopped selling these! So Please don't do that!

    I used the short stubby coils for the longest time and switched to these, not sure the exact difference was between the shorter version and this longer version but this one give more vape. The 1.8ohm is the best, the 1.5ohm sometimes also gave me burnt taste if the wattage on my battery is too high. The 1.8ohm is all around best suited for vaping I think.

    I have used these for 2 years, I believe the ones I purchased here are fake, they get a burnt taste after only an hour or so.
