Vaping Facts You May Not Know About

Vape Facts

Almost eleven million people in the U.S use vaping devices. However, many people are still in the dark about how vaping works. For example, how vaping without nicotine is not only possible, but common.

Luckily, this article exists to clear up ten misconceptions about vaping.

So if you're thinking about taking up vaping, reading this guide will help you understand it better. And even if you’ve been vaping for a long time, you might just learn something new.

1. Can Vaping Help You Quit Smoking

People have often called into question whether or not vaping helps you quit smoking. Well, the facts are in, read for yourself here

A common complaint of many smokers is that they have developed an oral fixation. Nicotine patches have proven effective at warding off the nicotine withdrawal, but leaves you without the hand to mouth portion of the addition.

Although, many smokers enjoy the physical aspects of smoking. Vaping involves drawing in vapor from a mouthpiece into the mouth or lungs. This can fulfill the craving many cigarette users have for putting something in their mouths.

Some vape juices also contain nicotine, and smokers often lower the nicotine content to help wean them off the nicotine craving completely.

2. Vaping Without Nicotine is Common

This brings us to the next common misconception about vaping. Many people claim that vaping is a gateway to cigarette smoking because of the high nicotine content.

This is untrue. There are a lot of vape juices that don’t contain any nicotine. Nicotine can be added, but most of the people who do that are trying to quit smoking.

Not to mention the flavor of vape juice is completely different from the flavor of cigarettes.

3. Big Tobacco is Trying to Kill Vaping

If there needed to be more evidence that vaping doesn’t lead to smoking, look at the relationship between the industries.

The amount of users beginning to vape rather than smoke continues to rise and because of this, big tobacco companies are losing money and not happy about it.

As a response to this, big tobacco companies have been trying to get vape shops to close down.

Companies like Reynolds, who make most of their money selling cigarettes, have tried to get a ban on any premium vaping devices and vape liquid.

4. Is Vaping Less Harmful than Smoking?

What is known for sure is that cigarettes are more chemically complicated than vapes. They contain a lot of chemicals and preservatives.

Moreover, these chemicals have been linked to cancer, and cigarette companies have no intention of taking them out.

Vape devices, on the other hand, are easier to customize. You can order all sorts of different vape juices.

5. Whats in Vape Juice without Nicotine?

As we’ve mentioned earlier, not all vape juices contain nicotine. Vape juice can be made of four main parts: Vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, and flavorings.

Vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol are both safe to consume by FDA standards. They are present in already existing products like preservatives and medicine.

You must remember to clean the coils in your vape. Not cleaning them properly will get gunk in the coils. The heating coils are what heat the contents of your vaping device.

If you don’t clean them, you can end up inhaling harmful chemicals.

6. Vaping Doesn’t Cause Popcorn Lung

There have been concerns in the past about vaping causing popcorn lung among other things. The reason people think vaping causes popcorn lung is because of a chemical called diacetyl, known to cause popcorn lung.

Popcorn lung is a disease that causes shortness of breath. Thankfully, this isn’t something you need to worry about.

While there can be some diacetyl created when vaping, there isn’t enough to cause popcorn lung. Furthermore, the spread of toxic chemicals can be prevented by cleaning or replacing the coils in your device consistently.

7. You can Vape THC Where it’s Legal

If you live in a state or country where recreational marijuana is legal, there’s good news. Many ecigs are compatible with THC oil.

8. You can Vape CBD

But let’s say you don’t want to vape THC. That’s cool too. There’s a lot of other stuff you can vape that has medicinal effects.

One of the most popular is CBD or cannabidiol. Some CBD tinctures don’t contain enough THC to have a psychoactive effect. But the CBD is known to be effective in combatting anxiety and other ailments.

9. We don't Want Kids Vaping

Often, people will accuse vape shops of appealing to kids with flavors like bubblegum or candy. Unfortunately, adults also like bubblegum and candy! So it's hard to be able to offer a full range of desirable flavors without ever appealing to children. However with the proper measures of age verification in store and online, it's possible to keep these items out of the hands of those kiddos. Also ensuring the bottles are childproof can prevent any small children from getting into the liquids.

10. Battery Explosions are Rare

An oft-touted concern for anti-vaping crusaders is that the battery can explode. This is not something you need to worry about if you use your vape correctly.

It's important to remember to never charge your device with anything besides a vape charger.

The other important thing to remember is to never let the battery overcharge. Never let your vape charge after it has reached 100%.

Vaping is Worth Trying

Beyond any claims, Vaping is less smelly, more fun, and a lot better for you than smoking. And there are loads of places to learn even more about vaping.
