DIY eJuice Mixing — Flavor Boost Your Vape Juice

Mixing your own vape juice gives you exact control over flavor, nicotine strength, and PG/VG ratio, usually for a lot less per bottle than buying pre-made. This guide walks through both routes: mixing a bottle from scratch, and boosting the flavor of one you already own. We also give away a free calculator that handles the math for you.

Free DIY eJuice Calculator

Our eJuice Recipe Calculator is a free download with no strings attached. Enter your target bottle size, nicotine strength, and PG/VG ratio, and it tells you exactly how much of each ingredient to measure. It removes the guesswork that trips up most first-time mixers. If you get stuck, our support team is reachable by phone, email, or live chat.

Why Mix Your Own eJuice?

Once you have the routine down, DIY usually costs noticeably less than buying pre-made bottles. You also get full control over the things a commercial bottle locks in for you:

  • Flavor intensity — dial it up or down to your exact preference
  • Nicotine strength — mix to the milligram you want, including 0 mg
  • PG/VG ratio — tune throat hit against vapor volume
  • Your own blends — combine flavor concentrates no commercial brand sells together

The first mix can feel like a lot. The calculator does the arithmetic, so all you do is measure what it lists.

Flavor Boost: The Shortcut to DIY

You don't have to mix from scratch to start customizing. The easiest on-ramp is flavor boosting: adding a few drops of eJuice Flavor Concentrate to a pre-made bottle you already like. It's a low-commitment way to adjust a flavor without buying every base ingredient up front.

How Much Concentrate to Add

Start around 2–3% concentrate by volume when boosting a pre-made liquid. Taste, then add more in 1% steps. Most single flavors land somewhere between 5% and 15% depending on the concentrate and how strong you like it. Give the bottle a hard shake after each addition, and let it sit before judging the result.

The eJuice calculator is free to download here at Central Vapors, whether you're building a recipe from scratch or just experimenting with a flavor boost. Questions along the way go to our support team by phone, email, or live chat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to start mixing DIY e-juice?

Four things: PG (propylene glycol), VG (vegetable glycerin), one or more flavor concentrates, and unflavored nicotine if you want nicotine in the final mix. You'll also want bottles, syringes or a scale for measuring, and gloves. The calculator tells you the exact amount of each to combine for your target bottle.

What is the difference between PG and VG?

PG (propylene glycol) is thinner, carries flavor crisply, and gives a stronger throat hit. VG (vegetable glycerin) is thicker and produces more visible vapor. Most mixers blend the two; common ratios are 50/50, 60/40, or 70/30 VG-heavy for sub-ohm setups. Both PG and VG are FDA-recognized food additives (GRAS) in food use; that is a fact about the ingredients in food, not a claim about vapor products.

How much flavor concentrate should I use?

It depends on the concentrate, but a common range is 5–15% of total volume for a single flavor, and less per flavor when stacking several. If you're boosting a finished bottle rather than mixing from scratch, start at 2–3% and add in 1% steps until it tastes right.

What is steeping and do I need to do it?

Steeping is letting a finished mix rest so the flavors blend and settle. Many fruit and menthol mixes are fine within a day or two, while custards, creams, and tobaccos often taste better after one to two weeks. Shake the bottle, leave the cap on, and store it somewhere cool and dark.

Can I mix e-juice with no nicotine?

Yes. Just leave the nicotine out and the calculator will balance the recipe with PG, VG, and flavor only. This is a common choice for vapers who want flavor and vapor without nicotine.

How should I handle and store nicotine safely?

Liquid nicotine is a chemical that requires care. Wear gloves, mix in a ventilated space, label every bottle clearly with its strength, and keep all ingredients sealed and stored away from children and pets. Use childproof bottles for anything that contains nicotine.
